WSP, New York City, has appointed Varughese Cherian as senior vice president. In his new role, he will serve as a member of the office's senior leadership team, focused on aviation sector design.

Dana Schneider, vice president and head of JLL's energy and sustainability services in New York, Boston and Washington, D.C., has joined the board of The Urban Green Council, New York City. She has served previously as a technical adviser to committees of the nonprofit, which focuses on creating a more sustainable city.

The U.S. Green Building Council board of directors has selected Fiona Cousins, a principal at Arup, New York City, to serve as chair-elect for the next three years. She also serves as a trustee of the Beverly Willis Architecture Foundation and board member of the Architectural League of New York. She also is a former trustee of the Ove Arup Foundation and adjunct professor at Columbia University.

The LiRO Group, New York City, has promoted Stephen Green and Andrea Anfossi to associate vice president. Green had been director of human resources and Anfossi was controller. In addition, the firm has hired Alagie Sanyang as director of corporate safety and health, a newly created position.

Racanelli Construction Co., Melville, N.Y., has hired Jim Kyroglou as project manager. Prior to joining the firm, he was project executive with J. Kokolakis Contracting Inc., New York City, where he oversaw project managers and superintendents on such projects as the Delta Terminal C&D Renovation Program at LaGuardia Airport.

IVI International Inc., West Harrison, N.Y., has hired Matt Pheanis as senior project manager/reviewer. He will be responsible for conducting Phase I environmental site assessments. The firm also hired Rick Markisoto as senior project manager/client service relationship manager for debt and equity accounts. He will serve as a liaison between IVI's architects and engineers and debt and equity clients and brokers.

The New York Water Environment Association, Long Island chapter, has cited Stephen Hadjiyane, vice president at Gannett Fleming, Woodbury, N.Y., with its achievement award. He has served NYWEA for 10 years as a board member and as chapter vice chair/secretary, a role he currently holds. Hadijyane is also chair of the group's scholarship program and a founder of its Young Professionals Committee.

Sano-Rubin Construction Services LLC, Albany, N.Y., has promoted Joshua Galarneau to senior project manager and hired Christopher Levitas as project manager. Galarneau, who joined the 102-year-old firm in 2012, had previously worked at DeSimone Consulting Engineers in New York City. Levitas was most recently employed at U.W. Marx Construction Co.

The Nontraditional Employment for Women board of directors has appointed Kathleen Culhane as president. Working with NEW for the past seven years, Culhane has been instrumental in the creation of many innovative programs that support the organization's goal of advancing women in the building and construction trades. Previously, Culhane worked with the Bowery Residents' Committee.

EYP Architecture and Engineering, Albany, N.Y., has promoted John Sobiecki from project executive to director of project delivery. In addition, the company has named Richard Clarke director of integrated design.

Raoul D. Ilaw has joined STV as a vice president and senior program manager in its construction management division, based in New York City. His previous industry employer and title were not disclosed. Ilaw is a past national director of the Construction Management Association of America and past president of its New York-New Jersey chapter.

Skanska USA Civil has hired Jeff Stewart as vice president of proposal development for its infrastructure, power and industrial construction operations, focused on design-build and public-private partnership projects. No previous employer name and title were disclosed. He will be based in the firm's Queens, N.Y., office.

The Long Island Contractors' Association has appointed Lynn Barker as manager of marketing, research and analytics. She will expand the group's industry advocacy program and help design, develop and implement new marketing strategies and provide market research and analysis.

CH2M Hill Cos. has elevated Jonathan Goldstick to area manager in its New York City office. He joined the firm in 2011 with its acquisition of Halcrow, where he was part of the maritime business group management team. Goldstick remains firm lead for waterfront and coastal resiliency projects.

Turner Construction Co., New York City, has promoted Bob Goworek to vice president and construction executive in its pharmaceutical group from construction executive. He joined the group in 2002.

Skyline Windows has promoted Matthew Kraus to senior vice president from project executive. He will lead sales and marketing initiatives and help guide the company's strategic direction.

MaxLite, a West Caldwell, N.J.-based global manufacturer of energy-efficient lighting, has named Jim Hunter senior vice president of sales and marketing. He had been vice president of sales and marketing for Samsung LED Lighting and also served as vice president and general manager for Luminus Devices Inc.
