Michael Frank
He is both an accomplished engineer and inspiring leader
37, Director of Engineering
McKinstry
Seattle

It was while working on the high-profile Washington Mutual Tower/Seattle Art Museum that Michael Frank, then 25, demonstrated budding leadership skills. Over the course of the project, he negotiated the criteria of multiple stakeholders with ease and grace, building trust while delivering on promises. As McKinstry's director of engineering, Frank currently leads a team of 30 designers and modelers that last year executed $5 million in contracts for mechanical and electrical projects valued at $100 million. Colleagues characterize Frank as both a highly skilled engineer and an intuitively inspiring leader who listens, collaborates, innovates and solves, all while articulating technical concepts in a manner that translates to laypeople. He is an active participant with the Lean Construction Institute as well as with ASHRAE's Technical Committee 9.9.
