The Pennsylvania Dept. of Environmental Protection has fined CNX Gas Co. LLC and CONE Midstream Partners LP for not building pipelines as approved in permits. CNX must pay $139,000, and CONE must pay $45,000 for violating the state’s Clean Streams Law and Oil and Gas Act. In a December inspection, DEP found that the pipelines, which move gas from Marcellus shale formations, were built outside specified areas and, in one case, involved elements not in the permit application. The companies have until Nov. 15 to review their pipelines.
