COVID-19 / Coronavirus Message

Last Updated:

Like you, we at ENR have been adjusting nearly every aspect of our business operations as we feel the personal, social and professional impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. For industry events, that means a lot of backup planning.

In March, we rescheduled the Award of Excellence Gala, the Top 25 Newsmakers Luncheon and the Best of the Best Projects Awards Breakfast from early April to August 4 and 5 in the hope that the COVID-19 outbreak would be under control by then. That continues to be our hope as we see a decline in new cases and improvements in containment in the New York City area and other hot spots across the country.

We want you to know, however, that we are also working on a backup to the new plan. The Award of Excellence, Top 25 Newsmakers and Best of the Best Project Awards presentations will be transitioned to virtual events—if necessary—to ensure the safety of our honorees, attendees and supporting sponsors.

Please know that this planning is a sign that we care about you, your colleagues, partners, customers and suppliers and the ENR community. We hold you all in the utmost regard.

We will keep you posted on our decision—whether to proceed with in-person events, produce them virtually or some combination of the two—in the weeks to come.

Our goal is to ensure these events continue to be impactful, engaging and most importantly, safe. We will continue to work very closely with the city of New York, Pier 60, the Edison Ballroom, and local, state and federal public health authorities to maintain constant communication on this front.

Notice to Registrants for Original April Dates

Please look for important follow up communications from BNP Media and Engineering News-Record and related vendors that will include logistical details resulting from the postponement. We are 100% committed to the Award of Excellence franchise, accordingly will be rolling over any payment received as a credit for the new dates: August 4-5, 2020.

If you were scheduled to attend in April, these are your immediate next steps:

  1. Registration fees. Any payment received will be rolled over as a credit for the new dates: August 4-5, 2020.
  2. Cancel your hotel room. If you made a hotel reservation at any of the participating hotels, please contact the hotel directly to cancel your reservation. We cannot do that on your behalf and the hotel will not do it automatically.
  3. Call your airline. Most airlines are waiving change fees and allowing you to either rebook your ticket for a future flight or providing a voucher for the full amount of the ticket for a future booking.

We value the support and feedback of everyone involved in preparing for this important event. We appreciate your professionalism, patience and understanding during these truly extraordinary times.
