While contractors continue to deal with unprecedented disruptions, ENR Southeast’s annual Best Projects contest offers some continuity as we once again recognize the region’s outstanding projects completed within the last year. This year, 114 project entries vied for honors from our independent panel of Best Projects judges, who ended up recognizing 35 projects from across the Southeast with some level of award. (The Southeast Excellence in Safety award will be announced separately.)

Among the impressive and diverse array of this year's winning entries: a project delivering eye-catching canopies at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport; a federal office building built amid challenging conditions in San Juan, Puerto Rico; an energy-positive K-12 school in North Carolina; and a Georgia Tech educational facility built to the demanding criteria of the International Living Future Institute’s Living Building Challenge.

This year’s diverse group of jurors hailed from across the Southeast, and included the following : Jamie Breme, Fluor Corp., Greenville, S.C.; Keith Douglas, The Whiting-Turner Contracting Co., Atlanta; Cary Perkins, McMillan Pazdan Smith Architecture, Greenville, S.C.; Ray Riddle, Holder Construction, Atlanta; Bobby Teachey, Brownstone Construction Group, North Charleston, S.C.; and Ron Whalen, Roger B. Kennedy Construction, Altamonte Springs, Fla.

Our judges nominated six finalists for ENR Southeast's 2020 Project of the Year. These finalists will be announced via ENR.com soon, and then recognized for this achievement via ENR Southeast’s Best Projects Awards event—along with all of our other award winners.

All winning project teams—as well as ENR Southeast’s Owner of the Year, Design Firm of the Year, Contractor of the Year, Specialty Contractor of the Year and Legacy Award winner—will be celebrated as well . Click here to register for the event.

Congratulations to all of this year’s winning projects!
