The judges have completed their work and the winners of the ENR Southwest Excellence in Safety awards have been announced. The competion is part of the Best Projects 2013 competition that will be spotlighted in the next edition of ENR Southwest. The awards banquet will be held Nov. 12 in Phoenix.

There were approximately 40 entries in this year’s Excellence in Safety competition. The safety winners are:

Barry Goldwater High School, located in Glendale, Ariz. Submitted by McCarthy Building Companies.

There are also two projects that are in the running for ENR Southwest’s Project of the Year: I-580 Freeway Extension and the Health Sciences Education Building on the Phoenix Biomedical Campus. Also at the banquets, we will take the opportunity to honor the firms that were selected throughout the year as our Owner, Design Firm, Contractor and Specialty Contractor of the Year. Those were the First Solar, Dekker/Perich/Sabatini, Kitchell and Suntec. We’ll also recognize the Top 20 Under 40 winners that were published earlier in 2013.
