Swinerton has promoted Brian McCarthy to senior vice president. He will drive strategic growth in California’s education, health care and parking structure markets. Jason Bone has joined as director of national design-build, bringing 25 years of architectural and contracting experience and more than $1.8 billion in design-build leadership. McCarthy and Bone will be based out of the firm’s Santa Ana, Calif., office. David Knochenhauer joins as national quality director, leveraging 30-plus years of experience to strengthen construction quality and operational excellence across the Swinerton enterprise. He will be based in the firm’s Concord, Calif., office.
Skanska USA Building Inc. has added two members to its California leadership team. M. Gregory Mantz joins as project executive, aviation lead, bringing 40-plus years of aviation project experience, including work on SFO and the Terminal 2 Expansion in Oakland, Calif. Michael Strong becomes vice president, project executive, leveraging 30 years in design-build, seismic retrofits and historic renovations to guide client relationships, project delivery and Bay Area business development.
Suffolk has appointed Preston Hoopes as general manager of Northern California, reinforcing the firm’s commitment to regional growth and innovation. With nearly 20 years of Bay Area construction and business development experience, Hoopes will expand Suffolk’s footprint, strengthen client partnerships and advance key sectors such as health care, life sciences, higher education and corporate work.
HNTB Corp. has appointed Karen Chapman as senior group director and vice president in its Santa Ana, Calif., office. With more than 30 years of experience, she will lead multidisciplinary teams on major highway, bridge and transit projects across Orange, Riverside and San Bernardino counties. Chapman has guided transformative, multibillion-dollar projects including SR-91 improvements, the Cajalco Road widening and the I-15/SR-91 Express Lanes Connector, enhancing safety and mobility in Southern California.
Ross Hansen has been promoted to special project delivery (SPD) manager for Turner Construction Co.’s Seattle office. Hansen is a 19-year veteran of the firm with a legacy of success in SPD. He brings a strong focus on collaboration and innovation to support Turner’s projects and teams. Katie Trimpe is the Seattle office’s new director of business development. Trimpe has been with Turner for 20 years. Her passion for connecting people and opportunities will help strengthen client and community relationships.
Ware Malcomb has promoted Keith Malloy to director of civil engineering in its Los Angeles office. A licensed civil engineer with 18 years of experience, Malloy joined the firm in 2020 and has driven consistent growth through strong client service and leadership.
The Western Wall and Ceiling Contractors Association (WWCCA) has named Nick Carrillo its new CEO, succeeding his father, Albert Carrillo, who has led the organization since 2016. Nick Carrillo brings nearly 20 years of construction and association leadership, including key roles within WWCCA and FCA International.
Taylor Design has hired Jamie Huffman as a science and technology project director based in San Diego. Huffman has nearly 30 years of experience involving advanced research facilities and biotherapeutic R&D environments.
