Crews performed maintenance, repairs and upgrades to the Utah Transit Authority’s infrastructure and facilities along Wasatch Front between North Ogden and Spanish Fork. Under this project’s scope, the team completed 135 individual task orders between January 2021 and October 2024.
This work included grade crossing replacements, rehabilitation of bus maintenance facilities, rail replacements, crossing and tie replacements, operator relief building installation, bus stop construction, basic track maintenance, insulated joint installation and a variety of concrete flatwork. The contractor also installed two types of bus charging systems, including pantograph-type chargers and plug-in chargers, both of which required installation of all necessary infrastructure and foundation components.
Limited work windows posed the biggest challenge for crews and material deliveries. The contractor scheduled crews around the clock to minimize impacts on UTA customers. Hourly work schedules detailed every activity in each task order, ensuring restored service at or before the scheduled return to service time.
