This first-of-its-kind 40-acre mixed-use development in Las Vegas combines more than 500,000 sq ft of retail, restaurants and entertainment alongside thoughtfully designed office spaces and housing. Completed across three phases on an active, public-facing campus, safety became a key priority.
Construction zones were blocked off to the public to safely separate pedestrians and tenants from work areas without disrupting daily activity. The dense, city-style layout and limited laydown space also created logistical constraints, which the team addressed through the strategic deployment of Potain tower cranes. Operated remotely from adjacent leased property, the cranes minimized onsite footprint and supported efficient site logistics.
Technical complexities arose in the attached retail spaces, particularly when coordinating wood and steel components across high ceilings. The team resolved these issues through VDC efforts and close collaboration with the steel contractor.
A comprehensive VDC strategy bolstered communication and decision-making processes, while a drone program provided aerial mapping, progress tracking and video footage. UnCommons is the first development in Nevada built to WELL Certification requirements, featuring drought-tolerant, desert-friendly landscaping with select artificial greenery to minimize water usage.
LED lighting and heat-reducing roller shades in residential spaces improve energy efficiency year-round.
