MSA Professional Services Inc., a Baraboo, Wis., consultant with offices also in Minnesota, Illinois and Iowa, has elevated Nick Wagner to CEO, effective on Jan. 1. Now senior vice president of the firm’s buildings service line, Wagner will succeed Gil Hantzsch, who is set to retire after 32 years at the firm, 11 of those as CEO.
Derek Cunz, president of Minneapolis-based contractor Mortenson, has been elevated to CEO, effective on Jan. 1. In that role, he will replace Dan Johnson, who is retiring. Cunz was promoted to president in 2023.
Kevin Mulhall has joined Ryan Cos. US, a Minneapolis-based construction, design firm and developer, as chief investment officer. He was managing principal and chief investment officer at Creek Lane Capital, a firm he co-founded.
McShane Construction Co. elevated Alison Gorham to vice president of its Wisconsin region. She was state operations director.
Engineer-architect RS&H has hired M. Anees Rahman in Chicago as a senior principal electrical engineer. He was vice president and senior electrical engineering director at Primera Engineers. Rahman also is RS&H aviation sector design leader.
Ghafari Associates, Dearborn, Mich., has promoted Rebecca Barry and Matthew Pettit to be senior vice presidents and joint leaders of the global firm’s U.S. architecture and engineering practice. Barry manages the firm’s largest architecture and interior design groups in Dearborn and Chicago. Pettit leads firm teams in mechanical, electrical and security engineering, technology and sustainability.
FGM Architects, based in Oak Brook. Ill., has elevated John Peters, Elliot Lee and Ron Richardson to executive vice president. New vice presidents are Alyson Sternquist, Mike Elliott and Cory Kamholz, who is Chicago based. Joining the firm is Anthony Lo Bello to lead higher education practice business development. Named as a board member is Vice President Jan Behounek, who leads the higher education practice and is president of the Chicago Building Congress.
Lisa Dziekan has joined Chicago-based Lamar Johnson Collaborative, a unit of Clayco, as principal of economic development. Responsible for public-private partnerships and other initiatives, she was a senior vice president at World Business Chicago, the city’s economic development organization.
Design firm BKV Group has named Kyle Yardley as government managing partner and justice practice leader in Chicago to expand its government facility design platform, the company said. It also has hired Jill Schroeder as a senior planner in Minneapolis to support company growth in senior living and health care markets.
AECOM Hunt, Chicago, named as vice presidents: Jonathan Doshna for project management; Rob Cortazzo for operations; and Corey Zussman for QA/QC. The firm also hired Meghan McLean as business development manager and Ibrahim Shobowale as project accountant.
McCarthy Building Cos. has promoted Scott Moellering to senior business development manager, based in Omaha. He is an 18-year veteran of the contractor.
