Skanska USA is the general contractor for the $360-million expansion of the Snoqualmie Casino and luxury hotel in North Bend, Wash. In late July, the team completed a six-hour overnight concrete pour for the project. Cox, who was on site all night, used a DJI Mavic 3 Drone to get the image. He says his goal was to display the work while including the sunrise over the Cascade Mountains. “I like how the photo captures the long hours required to accomplish these milestone moments and the beautiful environments they happen in,” Cox says. A total of 2,130 cu yd of concrete was placed during the six-hour pour. Sixty trucks were required for the 216 loads. Three 63Z Meter Putzmeister boom pump trucks were used to place the concrete. The multiphase expansion to the casino will include a new hotel, expanded gaming floor, destination spa, a 2,000-seat entertainment and convention center, parking structure and two signature restaurants with a third to open later.
