Laura Hawley

Laura Hawley was hired as vice president of business development for Skanska USA Building. Based in San Francisco, she is responsible for helping grow the firm in northern California. Hawley joined Skanska from DPR Construction, where she focused on the company’s health care core market in that region. Los Angeles-based Skanska USA Civil also announces western region promotions, effective on Aug. 7. Senior Vice President and General Manager James Bailey os elevated to executive vice president in its western region, succeeding Mike Aparicio who becomes senior vice president of operations until retirement next year. Ryan Clayton, formerly SVP for operations in the firm's northwest region, is promoted to succeed Bailey.

Atkins has named Todd McIntyre business development and strategy director for its California business. Based in Los Angeles, he will lead the firm’s engineering services growth strategy in the state. With more than 20 years of experience in both public and private sectors, McIntyre has served as Atkins’ community and intermodal infrastructure business development lead in the region since fall 2021. Prior to joining Atkins, he was chief strategy officer for Metrolink commuter rail in Southern California.

SmithGroup has hired Daniel Cusick as health studio leader and principal in Los Angeles. In his new role, he leads delivery of planning and design solutions for health care systems throughout southern California. During 35 years of experience, Cusick has designed multiple billion-dollar health care projects, said the firm. His portfolio includes the Catholic Health Good Samaritan Hospital Patient Care Pavilion in West Islip, N.Y.

Pam Elardo has joined consultant Brown and Caldwell, based in Seattle, as a senior advisor in its utility performance practice. She is a former deputy commissioner in the wastewater treatment bureau of the New York City Dept. of Environmental Protection and also was director of the King County, Wash., utilty's wastewater treatment division. Elardo also is past president of the Living Earth Institute, a Seattle nonprofit that aids international communities in developi ng sustainable water resources.

Eric Neandross has joined TRC Cos. in an yet undisclosed role following its purchase, announced June 6, of Gladstein, Neandross & Associates (GNA), a Santa Monica, Calif.-based consultant, of which he was CEO.  The firm is a leading specialist in low- and zero-emission transportation technologies, infrastructure, and ultra-low carbon fuels for commercial transportation, said Windsor, Conn.-based TRC in announcing the acquisition. Also taking a new rule in TRC is Sean Turner, GNA chief operating officer. About 100 GNA employees now join TRC, said the firm, which ranks at No. 16 on ENR's Top 500 Design Firms list, reporting about $1.2 billion in 2022 revenue

HNTB Corp. has named Kristine Agers office leader based in Seattle/Bellevue. A vice president, she brings three decades of technical expertise and leadership experience in transportation infrastructure to her new role. Since joining the firm in 2018, she served as group director, office sales manager, office operations manager, client service leader and deputy office leader. During Agers’ tenure, the office has doubled in size to a staff exceeding 300 people, said the firm.

Krisianna Bock

Krisianna Bock is named a principal at HKS in Los Angeles. With more than 20 years of health care experience, she has led facility master planning at academic medical centers and health systems across the country. Bock is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and received its 2018 Senior-Level Regents Award in southern California.

RS&H has hired Jeff Parker to lead Oregon infrastructure services. His transportation consulting design experience is focused primarily in the Pacific Northwest. As state leader, Parker will be responsible for building and managing the Oregon practice, including work in transportation and aviation markets.

Mike Conn

Mike Conn was elevated to CEO of Meridian. He previously served as chief development officer for the real estate firm. Its former CEO, John Pollock, will remain a managing director and serve as company chief financial officer.

Dudek has hired Helder Guimarães as chief financial officer. Guimarães brings more than 16 years of experience in finance and strategy. Before joining the firm, he worked for Lief Organics and Envent Corp. as chief financial officer and chief strategy officer.

Melissa Horvathas joined JTM Construction Group as west coast director of business development. Shet has worked in the Los Angeles market for a decade.


TranSystems has hired Lori Labrumas a senior vice president and West transit market and national bus-rapid transit leader. In this role, she will help build the firm’s transit market in the West. Lori brings more than 30 years of engineering and planning experience for transit agencies across the U.S.


HITT Contracting has promotedRyan Wagnerto vice president and regional office leader in Seattle. With more than 17 years of experience in the construction industry, primarily in data center builds, he relocated to the Pacific Northwest in 2021 to help expand the office’s mission critical business. In his new role, Wagner oversees operations and strategy for the office as well as project delivery ranging from mission critical data centers to corporate office interiors


Snyder Langston recently announced several leadership changes. Jason Rich is CEO, Lee Watkins is president/chief operating officer and Jo-E Lopez is chief relationship officer. The appointments are part of the firm’s 10-year succession plan led by Steve Jones, the firm’s executive chairman, and John Rochford, chairman.

Jeremy Scott

Jeremy Scott was hired by the Kleinfelder Group as client account manage to help grow its portfolio of site assessment and remediation work as well as provide technical and project management leadership in northern California and Hawaii. Scott has over 20 years of engineering experience.

Ware Malcomb recently made several personnel announcements. Leonard Camposano was hired as director of architecture. He brings more than 25 years of experience in architecture, design, planning, construction and management. Bill Roberts joined the company as general counsel, a newly created role in which he will oversee firm legal functions and provide legal, risk and compliance counsel. Kirsten Lien was promoted to director of interior architecture and design in Pleasanton, most recently serving as regional operations manager for the firm’s Pleasanton, San Francisco and Seattle offices.

SCS Engineers has hired Eric Williams to lead its brownfield strategy in the southwest. He works from two locations, Long Beach, Calif., and San Diego. With nearly 40 years of experience, Williams spent the first half of his career working on brownfield properties for consulting firms. He went on to own several development companies that acquired and redeveloped contaminated properties.

Sundt recently announced several hires. Emma Garza joined the firm as a lead estimator. She has over eight years’ experience in the industry as an estimator. Kenneth Yang was hired as a senior estimator in the building group, California district. He has over 16 years of diverse industry experience. Nate Johnson was added to the building group, California district team as a project engineer. He has three years of industry experience.

Christopher Waight

Christopher Waight was hired by MATT Construction as vice president of business development to expand its portfolio in life sciences, design-build and higher education. He has 25 years of industry experience, including work as a LEED-accredited architect.

AGC of California recently announced the hiring of Darryl Kysar as vice president for strategic initiatives and partnerships. In his role, he will focus on external relationships to develop and implement AGC of California’s workforce development programs, operated in collaboration with the AGC Construction Education Foundation. He was previously senior business development manager at Procore Technologies.

Massoud Safaee

Massoud Safaee joined AMA Group’s TM Technology Partners business unit as managing principal in Los Angeles. He brings more than two decades of experience in the delivery of technology services and previously managed major projects for Syska Hennessy, ARUP & Partners, Stantec Consulting Services and TK1SC/WSP.

Parametrix recently announced that Michael Dang joined the firm as a senior engineer, Kelly Irving as a principal consultant in program services, Linda Gehrke and Darlene Siegel as principal consultants, Tait Elder as a senior consultant and Tope Aderiye as a senior planner

Linda Taylor has received a Lifetime Achievement Award from AIA California for “a career of dedicated commitment to the built environment and in recognition of significant contributions and accomplishments toward the design and development of health care facilities in California,” it said. She founded Taylor Design in 1979, was president for 25 years and chaired its  board of directors for an additional 12 years.

Syska Hennessy recently announced several West Coast promotions. Sami El Khoury is managing director; Tarkan Altay is associate partner, Marlon Ramirez, Samer Nahas and Tyler Shockley are senior associates and Jeremy Coyle is associate.

John Solis, vice president of design-build at Paramount, Calif.-based industrial contractor Total-Western, is relocating to Bakersfield as the firm's north district vice president, overseeingl operations in central California and northern California, and the Pacific Northwest. He formerly worked for Bechtel, PCL and Michels, among other firms, says Total-Western.
