Ware Malcomb has promoted David Nighswonger to director, regional operations. Based in the firm’s Denver office, Nighswonger will oversee operations for the civil engineering team firmwide. Since joining Ware Malcomb in 2016, Nighswonger has managed numerous civil engineering projects and has overseen preparation of construction documents and construction administration for the firm’s public, commercial, residential, education and retail projects. Nighswonger brings more than 31 years of civil engineering experience to the team, including 15 years serving as a development engineering manager and public works director for the city of Thornton, Colo.

John Forney has joined the Colorado office of McCarthy Building Co. as director of business development. He brings more than 20 years of strategic business development and marketing communications expertise in aviation, health care, higher education and federal projects.

Torry McAlvain Jr.

McAlvain Cos. has promoted Torry McAlvain Jr. to president of the Boise-based firm. McAlvain represents the third generation of McAlvain builders in his family to assume the company’s top position. He has worked his way up through the ranks with time spent in nearly every department, including accounting, estimating, business development, project management and senior leadership. A graduate of Boise State University, McAlvain sits on boards for the Bronco Athletic Association, Idaho Association of General Contractors and St. Luke’s Children’s Hospital.

Tyler Resnick

In addition, Tyler Resnick has been named the firm’s vice president, filling the role vacated by Torry McAlvain Jr. Resnick formerly served as director of industrial construction. He has been with McAlvain Cos. for 11 years with a primary focus in civil and industrial construction. Resnick is also a graduate of Boise State University and is involved with the city of Boise’s code advisory board and the Pacific Northwest Clean Water Association’s construction committee. He is also vice president of the Boise State Construction Management Industry advisory board.

Andy Sizemore

Encore Electric has named Andy Sizemore director of its southern Colorado business unit. He succeeds JR Bond, who has recently been named vice president of business units. Through his 21-year career with Encore Electric, Sizemore has held a variety of positions, starting out as a first-year electrical apprentice and moving on to a variety of leadership roles. He has contributed to many award-winning project teams during his time with the company, including the University of Colorado Springs Ent Center for the Arts, several UCHealth and Centura projects across the Rocky Mountain region as well as projects with the U.S. Air Force Academy and at Fort Carson.

Brandon Moore has been named vice president of operations at Catamount Constructors. Moore has overseen projects worth up to $128 million across government, industrial, retail, health care, aerospace, higher education and K-12 markets.

Jay Burns

Jay Burns has joined CSHQA as an electrical engineering designer. He brings 16 years of telecommunications and project management experience to the firm. In his previous position as a utility engineering coordinator for wireless cell sites, Burns managed approximately 500 projects for various wireless carriers, helping to bring more than 300 sites on air.
