David Holstein

David Holstein, a longtime Ohio Dept. of Transportation traffic and engineering director has joined Woolpert in Dayton as transportation program director. Holstein authored and implemented ODOT’s maintenance of traffic policies and procedures, which included the maintenance of traffic exception committee and the development of the permitted lane closure chart.

Chris Weyer

Chris Weyer recently joined WSP’s Minneapolis office and the national bus/rapid transit practice as a senior project manager with more than 20 years of transit and rail design and construction experience.

 

Julius, Phinney, Picha

Tarlton Corp. in St. Louis has promoted Brian Julius, John Phinney and Andrew Picha to project managers. Julius started with Tarlton in May 2016 as a project engineer and was promoted to senior project engineer in July 2019. Phinney joined Tarlton in October 2016 as a project engineer in the power and energy group and was promoted to senior project engineer in July 2019. Picha started as a project engineer with Tarlton in October 2017 and was promoted to senior project engineer in March 2019.

Benjamin Martin

Schmidt Associates in Indianapolis has hired Benjamin Martin as a senior electrical engineer. A veteran of the Marine Corps and a graduate of the Purdue School of Engineering and Technology, Martin began his professional career as an electrical engineer for Mussett Nicholas + Associates Inc.

Sarah Bertolini, Soni Kreczmer, Elizabeth Geiser, Will Longsworth and Sam Veltri have been promoted to vice president in their respective entities within the Barton Malow companies in and around Southfield, Mich. At Barton Malow Builders, the institutional and commercial construction entity, Bertolini has been appointed vice president of human resources, while Geiser and Kreczmer move into vice president roles overseeing preconstruction and finance, respectively. At Barton Malow Enterprise, Veltri is now vice president of human resources and labor relations and Longsworth is now vice president of finance and controls. 

Justin Gabrielson

Ames Construction in Burnsville, Minn., has announced a leadership transition. Ron Ames has stepped down as president of the Midwest region. Executive vice president Justin Gabrielson has assumed the role of president of the Midwest. Ames will continue in his roles as an owner and member of the Ames board of directors. The new president took the reins in as the new year began.

David Campbell has joined Burns & McDonnell in Kansas City as a warehouse and logistics team leader. Campbell has two decades of facility operations, automation tech-nology and intelligent warehouse logistics and materials handling experience.

Kris Desmet has joined CRB in Kansas City, Mo., as senior director of client services for SlateXpace. Desmet’s operations and capital project experience includes senior leadership positions supporting multiple life sciences technology platforms. SlateXpace is CRB’s modular solution enabling multimodal manufacturing.
