DCI is busy with new construction and renovation projects in the multifamily, commercial and public infrastructure sectors and expects Spokane to continue its previous upward trend in construction activity post-COVID, says Comfort. He notes that COVID-19 slowed market growth, but he believes most developers see Spokane as a “bullish market.”

“We are especially seeing increased demand in single-family and multifamily construction projects due to the increase in population for the region,” says Comfort. Companies are offering increased opportunities for remote employment during the pandemic, and “we anticipate this trend to continue, as there is a shift from living in larger urban cores to places like Spokane due to the lower cost of living and quality-of-life benefits the area has to offer.”

DCI’s current projects include the two-phased Radio Park Apartments, each of which includes 228,000 gross sq ft with 147 apartment units and 238 parking stalls, and River Bend Development, two four-story buildings and two seven-story buildings with 350,000 gross sq ft of mostly apartment units.
