Built for a new planned community, this fire station includes three deep bays for trucks, administrative offices and living areas that include a fitness room, kitchen, day room, restrooms and outdoor patios. The building also incorporates a photovoltaic system to generate 50% of its energy needs.

After the project was already designed and awarded, the fire department sought to decrease incident response times by shortening the distance from key living areas to the front bay as much as possible.

With a restricted site size for the two-story building, the team conducted studies to design the most efficient layout and decided to reduce the overall building area and add a fire pole to reduce response times.
