Located in the middle of Culver City’s creative district, this three-acre development incorporates 75,000 sq ft of office space, 40,000 sq ft of retail shops and restaurants, a nearly one-acre public plaza and two levels of underground parking. The development’s namesake and defining feature is a grand architectural staircase that cascades down the side of the four-story building to the public plaza.
Designed to LEED Gold standards, the team built the ground-floor plaza and retail spaces as a cast-in-place structure surrounded by a brick facade. Wood louvers and ceilings and the use of frameless glass provide high-end touches. The varied arrangement of pavers on the ground level incorporate a soft landscape design with grass, tree planters and in-ground lighting.
