In constructing its Austin office, DPR Construction set out to focus on energy efficiency and promote healthy living. The project became the fifth net-zero energy office DPR has completed in the U.S. and serves as a “living lab” for sustainable design.

The project team had to contend with frequent scope changes, such as the late addition of skylights to the shell of the building before the building’s roof envelope was complete. To mitigate the issue, DPR installed temporary weather-tight roof decks over the skylight openings so work could continue.

Other elements of the main building include a living plant wall, an open floor plan and three atriums to provide natural light.
