The Sundt Cos., Tempe, Ariz., parent company of Sundt Construction, has added Tom Sorley to its board of directors. Sorley retired as CEO of Rosendin Electric in 2019 but still serves as the firm’s executive chairman.
 

McCarthy Building Cos., Phoenix, recently made several promotions within its water group. Chris Anvik was promoted to senior vice president of preconstruction. Anvik previously served as vice president of preconstruction and has 13 years of experience in construction, with an emphasis on water and wastewater projects. BJ Peterson was promoted to vice president project executive. Peterson previously served as project director and has extensive experience with virtual design and construction in water and wastewater facilities. Jaren Murphy has been promoted to business development director. Murphy previously served as business development manager and will continue to support national growth of McCarthy’s water program.

Alston Construction has made several new hires at its Phoenix office. Mike Bontrager has joined the firm as vice president and general manager. He will oversee procurement, preconstruction and construction of all projects out of the newly formed Alston Phoenix business unit. Brian Treanor has been hired as operations manager of the Phoenix office. He will oversee day-to-day operations, from programming to warranty. Scott Roberts has joined Alston as a superintendent. Roberts has more than 15 years of construction experience, specifically in retail, education, senior living and aviation markets.

Rick Alexander has been promoted to vice president, roadway business line manager, at Gannett Fleming Inc. Alexander has more than 19 years of project design experience, including 14 years leading the structural design of bridge projects. He is based in the firm’s Denver office.

AZTEC Engineering Group Inc., Phoenix, has promoted Deil Lundin to associate vice president. She has led growth of the firm’s cultural resources group since 2012. Lundin will continue to manage cultural projects in Arizona and the expansion of  those services to other markets.

Kovach, Phoenix, has hired Brian Davis as director of marketing and sales operations. Davis brings more than 15 years of experience in marketing and sales across various industries. He most recently worked for Okland Construction.

Wilson & Co. has hired Ed Latimer to serve as the operations manager of the Arizona municipal services division team. Based in Phoenix, he will focus on building public and private client relationships. As the leader of a team that provides community building services, Latimer will be responsible for water, public works and architecture services and operations.

The PENTA Building Group has promoted three people in its Las Vegas office. Suhaily Rivera-Ortiz has been promoted to controller. Rivera-Ortiz has been with PENTA’s accounting department since 2012. Matt Godinho is now a senior project engineer. He joined the team in 2018, serving as project engineer on a large-scale renovation project. Jennifer Jones has been promoted to assistant controller in the firm’s accounting department. Jones joined the PENTA team in 2019.
