The DC Housing Authority–Office of Planning & Development is planning the Affordable Housing Initiative–Delta Towers 1 Renovation at 1400 Florida Ave. NE. Curtis Investments is building the Reunion Square–Phase 2–Office–Retail–Building 2 at 2041 Martin Luther King Jr. Ave. in southeast Washington. The up to $50-million project is expected to start in April. The eight-story building includes 40,000 sq ft of retail space and 415, 000 sq ft of office space. Curtis Investments, 7905 Malcolm Rd. Maryland

The University of Maryland Foundation is planning the 180-unit Southern Gateway-Building A–Residential/Retail in College Park. The up to $50-million design-bid-build project includes one six-story building totaling 200,000 sq ft. Design Collective Architects Inc. is the project’s design firm. Frederick County Public Schools is building the Blue Heron Elementary School in New Market. The nearly $47-million design-bid-build project includes a two-story, nearly 98,000-sq-ft structural steel building for 705 students. The project is expected to start in March and is scheduled to be completed in 2021. GWWO Inc. Architects is the design firm. Pennsylvania

Black Creek Group is building Black Creek Warehouse One in Allentown. The $60-million project includes a one-story precast concrete building totaling more than 640,000 sq ft. The project also involves building stormwater management facilities, four future guard shelters, 343 parking spaces, 140 dock oversized parking spaces, 48 oversized parking spaces and 160 trailer parking spaces. Local planning approvals have been granted. At press time, advancement was pending application for building department reviews and approval. The year-long project is expected to start on March 1. Virginia

SPower is building the Solar Energy Facility (Keydet Solar A & B) on Roxbury Road between Wayside Road and Cattail Road (Route 650) in Charles City. The $425-million design-bid-build project is located on a more than 2,000-acre site and includes a 4,300-megawatt solar energy facility with photovoltaic panels installed on single-axis trackers, electrical inverters and transformers, transmission lines, meteorological station, access roads, security fencing, lighting and cameras. At press time, site clearing was underway for the project, awaiting final approval. Construction is targeted to start on April 4. Tishman Speyer Properties is planning Reston Crossing–Building 6-Residential/Retail at 2001-2003 Edmund Halley Drive in Reston. The up to $50-million design-bid-build project includes an up to 15-story building totaling 230,000 sq ft. The project, which will have up to 244 units and 10,000 sq ft of retail, has been approved by the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors. The project is expected to start on April 1.
