Webcor’s renovation combines elements that showcase the general and specialty trade contractor’s expertise in working with concrete, drywall and interiors. The goal was to make the craft of construction—and even the building’s “guts”—part of the design. Features include a complex concrete reception area, exposed piping and distinctively curved drywall. The firm’s long-term vision for creating a healthy work environment takes advantage of advanced lighting, good air quality and sustainable materials to meet rigorous requirements for WELL Building Standard (Gold), and LEED Silver certification for commercial interiors. As part of its WELL certification, the building’s impact on employee health will be measured routinely.
