Walter N. Marks Inc. is planning to build an Art Deco residential tower at 5411 W. Wilshire Blvd. in Los Angeles. The 42-story building will feature a curving facade rising above a podium with an outdoor deck on the fifth floor. It will contain 371 apartments. A total of 56 apartments will be set aside for low-income residents. The project is being designed by Keating Architecture. Construction is expected to be complete by 2023. The California Dept. of Transportation is currently evaluating submitted design-build proposals for the U.S. Route 50 multimodal corridor enhancement project in Sacramento. The proposed project will extend the existing HOV lanes west to Interstate 5 and rehabilitate the roadway, including selected ramps and connectors. The project is valued at $300 million. Dignity Health is planning to expand Dominican Hospital in Santa Cruz. The 84,000-sq-ft expansion will add three more operating rooms and a three-story parking garage with 410 parking spaces.
