The Associated Builders and Contractors Rocky Mountain Chapter (ABCRMC) presented awards to its member companies at the 17th annual Excellence in Construction Awards on Oct. 19 at Wings Over the Rockies Air and Space Museum in Denver. More than 250 members and guests attended the event. Key project awards were given to Hensel Phelps for the 1144 15th Street Office Building as the General Contractor Project of the Year. Other GC project nominees were FCI Constructors Inc. for the courier.market | bar | kitchen at the Grand Hyatt Denver and Milender White for the Byron White U.S. Courthouse. The Specialty Contractor Project of the Year went to RK Mechanical Inc. for the C. Wayne McIlwraith Translational Medicine Institute at Colorado State University.



More than 700 contractors and industry leaders attended the Associated General Contractors of Colorado Industry Gala and ACE Awards banquet in Denver on Nov. 2. Seventy-four project entries were submitted by AGC Colorado members. AGC Colorado honored the Jack Mincher People’s Choice selections. The GC award went to GH Phipps Construction Cos. for Center for Academic Success and Engagement Building in Denver, and the People’s Choice for specialty contractor was won by Heating & Plumbing Engineers Inc. for Colorado College Tutt Library. Weifield Group Contracting earned the top award for Contribution to the Community for the DU Net-Zero-Energy Home Project.
