Baby formula manufacturer Mead Johnson Nutrition relocated its corporate headquarters from Glenview, Ill., to River Point Tower in Chicago’s West Loop because it wanted to attract new employees while preserving the corporate culture that has made it a leader in the industry. The 62,400-sq-ft, three-story new office space is LEED Gold certified by the U.S. Green Building Council. To satisfy Mead Johnson’s younger and older workers, Partners by Design delivered a plan that includes a 1.5-acre public park and a 5,000-sq-ft fitness center as well as the flex space and high-tech conference rooms that are becoming the norm in today’s offices.

The office space features a 2,000-sq-ft Arktura ceiling system and a 1,500-sq-ft slab cut for a self-supporting staircase with custom rails. General contractor Skender was tasked with building an open, connective work environment that increases collaboration and communication throughout the organization.
