TorcSill Foundations LLC recently promoted two employees. Jeff Sullivan was elevated to chief commercial officer, based at the company’s headquarters in Pasadena, Texas. He joined TorcSill as a business development professional in 2012. Aaron Wheeler was named general manager of TorcSill’s AnchorPipe business unit. Wheeler was previously TorcSill’s corporate marketing manager.


Ryan HaynieRyan Haynie has been promoted to vice president of Manhattan Construction Co.’s Tulsa division. He’s been with the firm for 18 years, most recently serving as operations manager for the Tulsa office. He is also a 2018 ENR Texas & Louisiana Top Young Professional.

 


Preston HodgesMcCarthy Building Cos.’ Southern region has promoted Preston Hodges to vice president of the Houston division. He was originally hired as a project manager in 2013 and in three years was promoted to a project director—one of the youngest at the company.

 


Roger PavlovichRoger Pavlovich has joined MYCON General Contractors Inc., Dallas, as vice president following the firm’s recent acquisition of Pavlovich Construction Services.

 



Benjamin Llana has been promoted to vice president of development for Skanska USA’s Commercial Development operations in Houston. Llana joined Skanska in 2013 and most recently served as director of development.


TDIndustries has hired Gary Roden as vice president of Dallas business development. Roden brings 35 years of experience in the mechanical design and construction industries.


Vacuworx, Tulsa, has promoted Randy Hayes to vice president of business development and strategic accounts. Hayes has led the Vacuworx North American sales team for the last eight years as corporate sales director.


Lara ReenanCadence McShane Construction Co., Dallas, has hired Lara Reenan as a corporate attorney. She has more than 21 years of professional legal experience, with the last 11 years dedicated to the commercial construction industry.



Jason Engels, executive secretary-treasurer of the Central South Carpenters Regional Council, Baton Rouge, was reappointed to the Louisiana Workforce Investment Council by Gov. John Bel Edwards for another six-year term.

In addition, two longtime Texas union carpenters are the newest council representatives for the Central South Carpenters. Shawn Walker now represents Local 429, covering the North Texas area. Francisco Marquez represents Local 1266, covering the Central Texas area.


EMJ Construction has named Jacob Wadlington as director of business development of the firm’s Dallas office.


Gensler has hired Hunter Clayton as co-managing director of the Houston office alongside Stephanie Burritt, who has served as co-managing director since 2016. Clayton rejoins Gensler following seven years as an executive with MGM Resorts International.


SmithGroup has hired Kristen Harrison to lead business development in the firm’s Dallas office. She joins SmithGroup after a career at the Dallas office of HOK.

Wayne Barger has also joined SmithGroup’s Dallas office and will lead the firm’s global health practice. Barger joins SmithGroup after serving as senior vice president at CallisonRTKL in its health care practice group.


Steve RothSteve Roth has joined HNTB Corp. as group director of engineering, based in the firm’s Austin office. Before joining HNTB, Roth served as senior manager and transit practice leader for another consulting firm.


 


Gary N. Oradat has joined Halff Associates Inc.’s headquarters in Richardson, Texas, as director of water utilities. He spent 23 years with the city of Houston’s Dept. of Public Works and Engineering.

Stephen Gbur has joined Halff’s Houston office as a senior project manager.


Heath BrattonSlack & Co., Houston, has hired Heath Bratton as industrial business unit leader.

In addition, Charlie Westmoreland has joined the firm as director of project management, and Shelli Turgeon has joined Slack & Co. as director of contract administration and risk manager.


Freese and Nichols Inc. has made several key hires in Texas and Oklahoma. Jorge A. Arroyo has joined the firm in Austin to lead its alternative water supply services. Keith Beatty is leading Freese and Nichols’ Tulsa office to support existing transportation and water and wastewater projects. Naveen Chillara has joined Freese and Nichols’ water resources design division in San Antonio as a senior project manager and water-resources design engineer. Hydrologist Adam Conner has joined the water resources planning group in Freese and Nichols’ Austin office, serving the Central Texas markets. Mark Evans has joined the firm’s Austin office as a funding specialist to help public entities throughout Texas identify funding sources for water-related capital improvement and infrastructure initiatives.

 

Chamberlin Roofing & Waterproofing has hired Edgardo Franco as safety coordinator in the firm’s Dallas office. The firm also announced a series of promotions. Josh Adrian was promoted to senior project manager in the Austin office. In the Houston office, Danny Burgan was promoted to field operations manager, Ernesto Sandoval was elevated to senior project manager, Miguel Lopez was promoted to roofing field operations manager, Danny Rufrano was promoted to controller, Albert Garcia was elevated to senior project accountant, Shawn Buzek was promoted to director of support services and Paul Cerda was elevated to general superintendent.


O’Connell Robertson recently recognized five staff members in its Austin and San Antonio offices who have earned senior associate titles through the firm’s associate program. Promoted to senior associate were: Jayna Duke, Becky Winovitch, Misela Vandewalle, Kyle Fisher and Jeremy Zorn.


VLK Architects, Fort Worth, has appointed Scott Milder as principal K-12 education market leader. He founded Friends of Texas Public Schools in 2004, a 501c(3) nonprofit that educates Texans about the achievements of Texas public schools.


Douglas Rothermel has rejoined JQ as an associate and team lead for the engineering firm’s office in Austin. Rothermel previously worked for JQ as an associate and senior project manager for more than a decade.


Fred Allison and James Ket have joined Sundt Construction’s building group, Texas district. Both will serve as superintendents on projects within Bexar County.

Amber Simonson has joined the Texas district of the building group for Sundt in Fort Worth.


E.E. Reed Construction recently promoted Shawn Anderson to project manager. Anderson has been with E.E. Reed Construction for three years.


Inventure Design recently hired David Baker as associate principal. With more than 35 years in the industry, Baker brings a diverse background in construction, architecture and interior architecture to the firm.


Ethan Oddo has been hired as a project manager by Cycle Construction Co. LLC, Kenner, La. He previously worked as a project manager for COMANCO.


Lee Lennard, BGE Inc. president and CEO, was named a distinguished graduate of the Zachry Dept. of Civil Engineering at Texas A&M University. Lennard, class of ’86, will receive the honor at the school’s Distinguished Graduate Award Banquet at Texas A&M University in November.

Meanwhile, Alene Efaw recently received the inaugural Pat Brown Leadership Award for BGE. Efaw, a 10-year veteran of the Houston company’s land development department, where she serves as project manager, was honored for her community work both in Texas and abroad.


Michael Graves, central region water director at Garver, North Little Rock, Ark., was presented with the 2018 WateReuse Award for Excellence in the advocacy achievement category during the 33rd Annual WateReuse Symposium in Austin in September.
