Overall construction spending expected to decline almost 9% after 2017’s sharp increase

“The past four years in a row we’ve been building a lot of industrial parks and, once completed, they’re leasing up very well,” Gowin says. “Worldwide Technology’s two 1-million-sq-ft buildings in the Gateway Commerce Center is the first big build-to-suit that we have done for some time. It’s the region’s largest industrial real estate deal in 2018 at $115 million.

“The speculative market has been very good for the past four years. There’s only one building we worked on in that period that wasn’t immediately leased and snapped up,” Gowin adds.
