The Augusta Economic Development Authority of Richmond County is planning to build the James Brown Entertainment Arena on the site of the former Regency Mall in South Augusta. Triangle Tire USA is planning to construct two tire manufacturing plants in Edgecombe County. Construction of the first plant, which will produce passenger car tires, is scheduled to begin in 2019 and become fully operational by 2020.
