After a brief slowdown, Iwuc says the construction industry is “alive and well in Rhode Island” as major projects are developing or nearing completion. He said the $220-million South Street Power Station redevelopment in Providence and a casino in Tiverton are just what the economy needs. The outlook for Providence’s construction industry looks good, due partly to what Iwuc calls an “aggressive” state roads and bridges program. “Rhode Island is looking toward the future, for growth and economic development,” he adds.
