University Place Building One sits at the corner of State Street and University Parkway in Orem, Utah. The 140,000-sq-ft, mixed-use building has first-floor retail topped by four floors of office space. Exterior materials include stone, metal panels and glazing that allows floor-to-ceiling views. The south-facing wall was built on a nine-degree slant, giving further interest to the building’s most visible side. On the southwest corner, a 35-ft-high LED screen provides advertising space for the tenants. Okland Construction worked closely with the design team and the owner on value-engineering options to create a distinctive structure at a cost that met the design intent without sacrificing quality.
