“There’s no shortage of construction projects in Houston,” Johanneman says. “The level of diversity in the economy is amazing, especially in comparison to what occurred during the energy downturn of the 1980s.” Projects abound in the education, research, arts and, especially, the health care market, where Johanneman says there’s a seemingly never-ending demand for renovation and expansion. “The biggest challenge for us continues to be with the shortage of skilled crafts people,” he says.
