Landis Construction has made some leadership changes. Anne Teague Landis has been named CEO, making her the third generation of the Landis family to lead the firm. Christian Generes has been appointed the firm’s new president. Kyle Condon was named chief construction officer, and Sarah Busch was elevated to vice president of operations. Jim Landis, former president and CEO, will transition to the role of chairman and remain involved in the business as an adviser and ongoing resource for senior staff.

Lee Slade has been named the fourth chairman of the board at Walter P Moore. Slade is a 39-year veteran of the firm and has been a member of the executive leadership team since 1993. He maintains his position as executive director of the firm’s largest operating group, Structures.

Scott Day has joined Kent Design Build Inc. as chief financial officer. He has spent 25 years in leadership roles, serving as a CFO, president, co-manager and CAO for partnerships and corporations in the New Orleans region.

Evelyn Henry Miller is TDIndustries’ new chief financial officer. She has been CFO for The Dallas Morning News and Agencies of Change.

John Plotnik has joined the Sherman Economic Development Corp. as the firm’s new president. Plotnik was previously executive vice president of the Corpus Christi Regional Economic Development Corp.

FKP Architects  has hired Jim Johnson as senior vice president and senior project manager. He has worked exclusively on health care projects for the past 20 years.

FKP has also added three new design technicians in its Houston office: Nichole Bryant, Gauri Nadkarni and Kelsey Sulik.

Remedial Construction Services LP (RECON) has hired two employees in its Houston office. Richard Jordan joins the firm as senior vice president of business development. Keith LaRue was appointed program manager of geotechnical construction services.

CEC Facilities Group has hired Erol Baki as vice president of business development. Mark Melendez was named account manager for CEC’s growing electrical services department.

Tom Wendorf, HNTB Corp.’s vice president and program director, has transferred to Houston from the firm’s San Antonio office to oversee delivery of the Port of Houston Asset Management Program. Wendorf has been with HNTB since 2007.

Raj Basavaraju has joined the company as senior project manager with the  infrastructure growth services team in Houston. Before joining HNTB, Basavaraju served as a senior project engineer and project manager for a private infrastructure firm.

HNTB has also added two members to its Houston aviation practice: David McNamara was named aviation program manager and Fred Vasquez was named design manager for the George Bush Intercontinental Airport International Terminal Redevelopment Program. Before joining HNTB, McNamara served as project manager for several consulting firms. Previously, Vasquez served as a project manager for several renovation and expansion projects at IAH.

In addition, Trace Billet, with HNTB for two years, has been promoted to project manager from deputy project manager.

Mayse & Associates Inc. has announced several promotions. Nana Gaines has been named treasurer. Gaines previously served as the firm’s accounting manager since 2006. Gregory Daspit has been named vice president in addition to his current role as a studio director. He recently celebrated his 29th year with the firm. David Goldston is now vice president of marketing. He has been with the firm since 2004 and an equity partner since 2008.

Robert Frick has rejoined Ramtech Building Systems’ engineering group as mechanical, electrical, plumbing design manager. He returns to Ramtech after 18 years working as an MEP consultant, including most recently as vice president and director of the education division for Image Engineering Group of Grapevine, Texas.

Todd Gnospelius has joined Manhattan Construction as director of business development. Before joining Manhattan, Gnospelius was part of  the national aviation and federal sector teams for another construction firm.

JQ has made some leadership changes in its Austin and Fort Worth offices. Thomas L. Scott has moved from Fort Worth to lead the Austin office as partner and principal. Scott joined the engineering firm in 2002. Carlo N. Taddei has moved from Dallas to lead the Fort Worth office as principal. Taddei joined JQ in 2004.

Stephen Yu has joined Othon Inc.’s Houston office as director of municipal operations and as senior project manager for municipal and site development projects. He will also provide mentoring and training of technical staff for continuous delivery of quality projects and client satisfaction.

Balfour Beatty Construction has promoted several people in its Houston office. Rahul Dutta, who has been with the company for 14 years, was promoted to operations director. Lee Gibson was promoted to senior project manager. He has been with the company for 15 years and specializes in K-12 construction. Charlie Newton was elevated to assistant project manager. Newton has been in the construction industry for four years and previously served as a senior project engineer. David Ladewig was promoted to business development manager.

Kyle Hunt has joined Stanley Consultants as an environmental project principal based in the firm’s Austin office. Hunt previously held positions as director of sales and business development for Sutron and as quality assurance manager for URS Corp.

Carmine Borea has joined Finley Engineering Group as a bridge engineer. Borea has five years of bridge design and construction engineering experience with expertise in precast segmental bridge beams in the U.S. and around the world.

LJA Engineering has announced several new hires. Brady Baggs  has joined the company as senior project manager in the firm’s San Antonio office. Thomas Mountz has been named project manager in the firm’s water resources division. He is a nationally certified floodplain manager. Mountz is currently serving as treasurer for the Texas Floodplain Managers Association’s board of directors. Greg Strube has joined the firm as senior engineering manager in Houston.

Sundt Construction Inc. recently promoted Larry Eastep to building operations manager for the company’s Texas team. Eastep, a former field operations director, joined Sundt in 2014 with 36 years of experience in construction development.

Freese and Nichols Inc. has hired Justin Brown as a senior engineer for the company’s Frisco, Texas, office. Most recently, Brown was director of public works for the city  of Corinth, Texas, where he worked for seven years.

Brad Bloxom has joined Speed Fab-Crete as an assistant project manager. He is the third generation of the Bloxom family to work for the 64-year-old construction company. His father, David Bloxom, serves as Speed Fab-Crete’s president and co-owner, and his late grandfather, Dave E. Bloxom, founded the company in 1951.
