David H. Wilson has been named chairman of the board and president of Gannett Fleming West Inc. Based in the firm’s Albuquerque, N.M., office, Wilson has 18 years of experience at Gannett Fleming. Wilson has also been named the regional office manager of the Albuquerque and Santa Fe offices. Wilson holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and an MBA from the Anderson School of Management at University of New Mexico. He is a founding board member of the Intelligent Transportation Society of New Mexico.

JMA Architecture Studios has hired several new employees. Patrick R. Hanson , intern architect, is currently working in the firm’s public studio on a complete renovation package of the Clark County Detention Center in Las Vegas. Erick Tuomy , project professional, is responsible for project architect duties in health care and currently is working on the VA Northeast Clinic in Las Vegas. Joining at the project professional II level are Pradeep Kumar Uppari, working in the public and hospitality studios, Shauna Heinicke, in the health-care studio, and Robert Blacker, in the public studio.

Valerie Kelly has joined Kitchellas director of client services for the health-care division. A 20-year veteran of the A/E/C industry, Kelly previously led business development for the Southwest region at McCarthy Building Cos. Kelly was instrumental in creating and launching the Central Arizona Society of Healthcare Engineering, where she served as a board member in 2009. She is active in Valley Partnership, Urban Land Institute, Valley Forward and NAIOP. Kelly studied English literature at UCLA and is a published writer.

Douglas B. Sydnor was elevated to the College of Fellows at the American Institute of Architects. Sydnor, of Douglas Sydnor Architect and Associates Inc., was honored in part for his leadership in 20 organizations, including serving as the AIA Arizona chapter president, founding chairman of the Scottsdale Historic Preservation Commission and lecturer and adviser to Arizona State University. The only inductee from Arizona this year, Sydnor will be invested at the 2011 AIA National Convention in New Orleans on May 13.

John Hellman was hired as senior project manager for Sundt Construction Inc. in Tempe, Ariz. With more than 20 years of industry and management experience, Hellman will utilize his skills in the areas of solar technology and water/wastewater systems. Most recently, Hellman worked at Skanska USA Civil Southeast, where he served as project executive. He earned a bachelor�s degree in construction management from Colorado State University.

Brandon Tyler

Brandon Tyler has been added to the staff of the Albuquerque office of Beaudin Ganze Consulting Engineers Inc. Tyler will work on mechanical engineering projects for educational, health-care, commercial and government clients, and has already performed HVAC and plumbing design on the Oklahoma State University Houston Center and NEO Student Union renovations and upgrades for BGCE. He recently graduated from Oklahoma State University with a degree in mechanical engineering.
