North Carolina State University officials broke ground recently on the James B. Hunt Jr. Library, an academic and research library. The university reported its cost as $127 million.
Pearce Brinkley Cease + Lee Architecture of Raleigh is the architect. Snøhetta will serve as lead designers. The project will be designed to LEED Silver standards.
Skanska USA Building, Durham, is the contractor. McGraw-Hill Construction estimates Skanska’s contract at $66 million. Skanska’s work also includes a parking deck and utilities. Construction should complete by 2012.
