The Chicago office of architect and engineering consultant HOK has named Robert Bistry vice president and practice leader for the firm’s architecture practice. In addition, the firm has named David Genc as senior associate and senior project director and Andre Baros as associate and project architect. In addition to working with HOK’s architecture practice, both Genc and Baros will work with the firm’s international studio. All three employees are new to the firm.
SmithGroup has named Tim Tracey design director for its Chicago architectural practice. In his new role, Tracey oversees conceptual and design development work for the firm’s learning, health care and science and technology studios. Tracey, who has 15 years of architectural design experience, was previously associate principal at the Chicago office of Krueck and Sexton Architects . His projects include the Spertus Institute for Jewish Studies in Chicago.
Natalie R. Petzoldt has been appointed associate principal with St. Louis-based architect and engineering firm Cannon Design . Petzoldt, who leads Cannon’s St. Louis health care practice and serves as principal health-care planner, currently is at work on the Phoenix-based Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center, which will feature outpatient, inpatient, and diagnostic and treatment facilities.
Appleton, Wis.-based architect and construction manager Hoffman LLC has named Todd Wunderlich project manager and Clay Veldt business developer with the firm. Wunderlich is a LEED-accredited professional with 13 years experience in the design and construction industry. Veldt brings nearly 15 years of industry experience to his new role. Both employees are new to the firm.
Paul R. Ellis has been named vice president, energy and strategic resources, with Evansville, Ind.-based Industrial Contractors Inc. Previously, he was vice president of generation engineering with Duke Energy in Charlotte, N.C. Ellis, a professional engineer, is charged with pursuing growth opportunities in the energy sector. He also will support and assist other business units.
