Clayco Inc. of St. Louis recently announced that its work on the Edward A. Doisy Research Center at Saint Louis University has been awarded LEED certification by U.S. Green Building Council and the Green Building Certification Institute.

Joined by Cannon Design’s George Nikolajevich as lead designer and Tom Harvath as lab planner, the entire project team implemented a number of green design and construction strategies in the $80.5 million biomedical research facility that substantially impact occupant health and environmental performance.

The 10-story, 206,000-sq-ft research building features a contemporary design of steel, brick and glass on the exterior; and modular laboratories, animal vivarium, conference rooms and a Clinical Core Lab facility on the interior. Clayco acted as construction manager on the project and Cannon Design was the architect.
