This single-story student dining facility on Arizona State University's West campus, adjacent to a student housing community, was designed and built to receive LEED-Silver certification. Sustainable features include LED lighting, low-flow plumbing fixtures, recycled content materials, low-VOC sealants and paint coatings and FSC-certified wood products. The 21,876-sq-ft interior includes a full kitchen, cafe, grab-and-go market, indoor dining, two multipurpose conference rooms and a reserved dining room.
Since the precast concrete facades of existing campus buildings had weathered over time, it took many samples and careful quality control by the project team to ensure that the new building's precast concrete matched in color and finish.
