BARKSDALE
David Barksdale was named senior vice president and general manager of Batson-Cook Co.'s Atlanta office, where he will focus on strategic planning and business development. A 35-year veteran of the company, Barksdale previously served as senior vice president and general manager for the firm's Jacksonville, Fla., office.

Even Spradlin was promoted to senior vice president and general manager for Batson-Cook's Jacksonville office. A 16-year company veteran, Spradlin previously worked as a project executive.

 

WESSINGER
Alesia Wessinger was promoted to the position of corporate secretary for Batson-Cook. She previously held the position of assistant secretary.

David Thomas, a senior vice president with Gannett Fleming, has been named director of the firm's Southeast region, which includes 14 offices.

Based in Miami, Thomas also serves as the firm's national director of transit and rail. He has 38 years of industry experience.

Richard Coudurier was elected vice president with engineering firm RS&H in Tampa. Coudurier joined the Tampa office of RS&H as the firm's engineering leader. Prior to that, he had worked as an aviation engineer with the Hillsborough County Aviation Authority in Tampa. Coudurier has 29 years of engineering experience.

 

CHEN
Mark Chen has been named director of design at Heery International in Atlanta. In his new position, Chen will be responsible for managing Heery's design practice on a unified national basis. He succeeds Greg Peirce, who retired after 32 years with Heery.

Prior to this appointment, Chen ran his own design and planning consulting firm in New York. He was previously a principal and project designer with Perkins+Will, and assisted with the planning and design of Canary Wharf in London.

 

 

SMITH
Dustin Smith has joined the Atlanta office of general contractor Brasfield & Gorrie as a senior project manager. He has more than 10 years of construction experience.

Brad Malmsten was named vice president for the Fort Lauderdale, Fla., office of Thornton Tomasetti. Malmsten joined the company in 2001 and serves as Thornton Tomasetti's construction support services practice leader for the mid-Atlantic and South regions.

Ian Smith was named vice president and process planner for Primus Builders, a Woodstock, Ga.-based engineering and construction firm specializing in projects for the food, medical and distribution industries.

Don Brown has joined Stewart Engineering in Raleigh, N.C., as manager of the firm's construction services department. He will oversee the department's three service lines, which include geotechnical engineering; construction materials testing/special inspections; and construction engineering and inspection.

Austin Davis has joined Stevens Construction's office in Orlando as a project manager. Davis will focus on health care projects.
