Neeser Construction Inc., Anchorage, is scheduled to start the University of Alaska Anchorage School of Engineering and Industry Building project in April. The $55-million contract includes construction of a 75,000-sq-ft, four-story reinforced concrete building. Teaching space includes labs for electrical engineering, fluids, heat and mass transfer, HVAC, soil mechanics and other disciplines. K&E Excavating Inc., Salem, is scheduled to start the Taxiway C East Rehabilitation and Runway project at Portland International Airport in April. The Port of Portland awarded the $20-million contract in January. The project scope includes the reconstruction of the taxiway with Portland cement concrete; reconstruction of perimeter roads; grading and drainage improvements; widening paved shoulders to 35 ft from 15 ft; providing hydrant water lines; and other improvements. Washington
Lydig Construction Co., Bellevue, started construction of the Auburn High School Modernization & Reconstruction project in February. The Auburn School District awarded the $80.6-million contract in January. The 275,000-sq-ft project includes the replacement of 240,000 sq ft of existing buildings with a three-story structural steel building.
