As the first residential development in Detroit’s Greektown neighborhood in more than 60 years, the 207-ft tall, 16-story building features 153 apartments and 12 condominium units.
This 355,000-sq-ft, six-story greenfield hospital provides 129 private inpatient beds, a labor and delivery department, an emergency department, complete medical and surgical capabilities and imaging and lab services.
“In the city of Detroit, there’s a lot of demand for residential. There is a shortage of residential space, [and] there are a lot of projects. They are not of the size and magnitude of the Hudson’s redevelopment [planned to be Detroit’s tallest building], but it is all significant,” Baxa says.
The two-story building targeting LEED Gold certification serves as a consolidated scientific research facility at one of the largest marine research centers in the country, according to the project team.
