As part of a larger realignment of its equipment offerings, Peoria, Ill.-based Caterpillar Inc. announced Feb. 26 that it is ceasing production of its line of on-highway vocational trucks. Launched in 2011, the trucks initially were manufactured by Navistar and sold through Cat dealers. Cat had announced in 2015 that it planned to shift design and production of the trucks to its plant in Victoria, Texas, but now it instead will end the product line. The company says it will continue to support all existing truck customers.
