Alvin C. Dominguez has joined Wilson and Co., where he will be responsible for developing and sustaining client relationships in southern New Mexico. Dominguez is a Native American with 28 years of engineering leadership experience. He was formerly a technical support engineer for the New Mexico Dept. of Transportation and is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers.

Lawrence Pobuda has been hired as senior vice president and general manager of Opus Development Co. in Phoenix. The firm works in such sectors as office, industrial and residential real estate. Pobuda had been senior vice president of capital markets for Transwestern. He is a previous national board chairman of the Commercial Real Estate Development Association.

The firm's parent, Minnetonka, Minn.-based Opus Holdings LLC, also announced that Gerald A. "Gerry" Rauenhorst, who founded a construction firm in 1953 that would become the $2-billion contractor-developer, died on April 24 in Edina, Minn. He was 86. Rauenhorst, a pioneer in design-build construction, was awarded the Brunelleschi Lifetime Achievement Award by the Design-Build Institute of America in 2007.

Rich Keil has been named the head of mining and industrial construction at Sundt Construction. Also, Sean Lynch was promoted to operations manager for concrete construction at the Tempe, Ariz., contractor.

Keil brings 24 years of experience with heavy industrial projects in multiple sectors including power, forest industries, mining and chemical processes. He has worked with emerging technologies such as gasification, gas-to-liquids and algae fuels.

Lynch, who has 30 years of project management experience, had been a senior project manager. He joined the firm in 2013 and previously managed projects in both the U.S. and Canada.

Dave Peterson has been hired by Kleinfelder as vice president and operations manager for Arizona. He will be responsible for promoting the company's geologic and geotechnical services throughout the state. Peterson brings more than 34 years of experience in transportation, mining and energy markets throughout Arizona and the Southwest to the San Diego-based company. Prior to joining Kleinfelder, Peterson worked on the Hoover Dam Bypass in Las Vegas. He also serves as a director of the American Council of Engineering Cos. of Arizona.

Pat Mulroy, former Southern Nevada Water Authority general manager, has been named a senior fellow of climate adaptation and environmental policy at Brookings Mountain West, a partnership between the Washington, D.C.-based Brookings Institution and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. She will also be a senior fellow for Brookings' metropolitan policy program. Mulroy retired from the water agency in February after 25 years in her leadership role. She will remain based in Las Vegas.

Antonya Williams has been promoted by McCarthy Building Cos. Inc. to business development manager for the Southwest division in Phoenix. Her primary focus will be on municipal, community college and K-21 projects. She previously worked for McCarthy's northern Pacific division. Williams is a member of the Urban Land Institute and National Association of Women in Construction.
