Corps To Require Standard Asset Data Files by 2015

Beginning with fiscal year 2015, all U.S. Army Corps of Engineers military design-build and construction contracts will require submission of construction-operations-building information exchange files for asset data. The COBie format is designed to streamline delivery of asset data from construction to operations by using a standard format to capture information, says Bill East, the senior research engineer at the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center's Construction Engineering Research Laboratory and lead developer of COBie. Training at Corps district offices is in progress. Sign up for webinars through bill.east@us.army.mil.
