Adolfson & Peterson Named 2026 Contractor of the Year for Colorado and Wyoming

Construction is nearing completion on the College of Osteopathic Medicine at the University of Northern Colorado.
ENR Mountain States & Southwest has named Adolfson & Peterson Construction as its 2026 Contractor of the Year for Colorado and Wyoming.
Safety is a cornerstone for the family-owned firm’s success and the contractor just surpassed 4 million labor hours with zero lost-time incidents. The contractor generated $60 million in new client revenue in 2025 while maintaining a 91% repeat-client rate.
Higher education is a key market for Adolfson & Peterson. The contractor is currently wrapping up construction on the University of Northern Colorado's College of Osteopathic Medicine in Greeley. The medical school's inaugural cohort will begin classes this fall. At the School of Mines in Golden, Colo., the contractor is constructing the Energy and Minerals Research Facility, which will house the USGS Geology, Geophysics and Geochemistry Science Center and the Central Energy Resources Science Center. The building will open in February 2027.
A profile of Adolfson & Peterson will appear in the August 24 print issue of ENR Mountain States & Southwest, which will also feature our annual ranking of the top construction firms across the eight-state region of Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming.
