ENR Mountain States & Southwest has named Layton Construction Contractor of the Year for the Southwest, which includes both Arizona and New Mexico. The award is the result of the firm's tremendous growth in the region, along with other considerations. A major driver of the growth has been Layton’s mission critical initiative, which has fueled significant expansion not only in the Southwest but also nationwide.
Key Layton projects in Arizona include the Central Station Redevelopment and Fender Headquarters in Phoenix, the Rambler student housing in Tempe, and the high-end Camelback Residences adjacent to the Phoenician Resort in Scottsdale.
While growing its presence in the region, Layton has also raised $1 million for children’s cancer research since selecting Phoenix Children’s Hospital as the charitable recipient of the firm’s golf tournament five years ago.
Firms of the Year are chosen by a vote of the regional ENR editors from across the country based on a carefully selected group of finalists. Factors include revenue growth, new initiatives, current projects and community and industry contributions.
A story on Layton will appear in the August 25 print issue of ENR Mountain States and Southwest, which will also feature our annual ranking of the top construction firms across the recently-merged seven-state region of Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming. Fill out a survey to be included in this year's ranking at this link. Surveys are being accepted through July 18.
