A vote by ENR editors has resulted in the selection of Georgia-based Pond as this year’s Southeast Design Firm of the Year. According to the information that Pond submitted to ENR Southeast’s annual Top Design Firms survey, the engineering firm reported a nearly 20% increase in the amount of design revenue earned during the previous year for work performed in the Southeast region.

But revenue growth was not the only factor in the Design Firm of the Year selection process. In addition to achieving that positive revenue growth, the company is apparently going about it the right way. Earlier this year—for the second year in a row—Pond took home the Engineering Employer of the Year Award from ACEC Georgia’s annual Engineering Awards program.

In its press statement about the recognition from ACEC, Pond credited its “culture of giving back to the engineering profession and the community.” Additionally, Pond stated that the firm “embraces staff advancement through internal mentorship, as well as supporting educational programs like the ACEC Georgia Future Leaders Program, providing talented engineers as students and company veterans as educators.” The Peachtree Corners, Ga.-based company—which also works as a construction manager—is also nationally ranked as a “Best Place to Work” by Zweig-White.

Founded in Georgia in 1965 as a home-based business, the firm now has 550 employees overall, with 24 offices, including in Spain and Japan. Readers will be able to learn more about Pond in a profile story that will publish in the April 30th print edition of ENR Southeast.
