Earlier this year, ENR Southeast announced its annual Best Projects award winners. In addition, each year we assemble a panel of safety experts to choose which project entries are most deserving of one of our most important awards, the Excellence in Safety Award.
Assisting with this selection process this year were: Jeffrey Ruebesam, vice president-health, safety and environment for Fluor, Greenville, S.C.; and Ken Umstead Jr., safety director with IMC Construction of Pennsylvania.
And the winners are:
Excellence in Safety Best Project
Biogen LSM 3X Capacity Upgrades project, submitted by DPR Construction. The $42-million, design-build biopharmaceutical project in Research Triangle Park, N.C., consisted of deconstructing seven manufacturing areas and reconstructing those areas to increase production capacity and improve process design.
Award of Merit
Clemson University Allen N. Reeves Football Complex in Clemson, S.C., also submitted by DPR Construction.
Award of Merit
Sunset Harbour Neighborhood Improvements project in Miami Beach, submitted by Lanzo Construction Co.
ENR Southeast will provide readers with more information about these projects and the safety results that they achieved in our November print edition.
Congratulations to this year’s safety award winners!
