From an early look at revenue data from our annual Top Specialty Contractors survey, Southeast firms are (mostly) starting to see further positive movement. The survey, as most readers know, is conducted to produce our annual Top Specialty Contractors rankings, which will publish this September.
In short, the numbers are starting to look better for many, but not all, specialty contractors working in the four-state region of Florida, Georgia and the Carolinas.

Partly because one of last year's top-5 firms did not participate in this year's survey, the cumulative overall revenue number reported by this year's survey respondents fell. For instance, this year's cumulative revenue totaled right at $5 billion, which is a shade lower from last year's survey total of $5.17 billion.
A closer look at the firm-by-firm numbers reveals more positive news, though. Looking at the coming ranking's top 50-ranked firms, 43 participated in last year's survey. Of those 43 repeat respondents, 34 reported increased revenues, while 9 saw declines.
Also, collectively, those 43 repeat respondents reported nearly $4.16 billion in 2014, the year covered by this most recent Top Specialty Contractors survey. That new total represents a more than $600 million collective gain for those firms, compared to what they reported a year ago.
ENR Southeast will have more analysis and insights from local specialty contractors in our Sept. 21, 2015 print edition. For now, here's a look at the 95 firms that will be included in this year's upcoming ranking, in alphabetical order.
