Four projects that won top regional awards from ENR Southeast's recent 'Best Projects' contest have gone on to earn national 'Best of the Best' designation from ENR.
As ENR's Scott Blair noted when announcing this year's 'Best of the Best' award winners, the results were the culmination of a months-long effort to determine the nation's most outstanding construction projects. Collectively, nearly 1,000 projects first vied for consideration via ENR's regional Best Projects competitions, with the top winners in each category moving on for national consideration.
The end result of this Best of the Best program is a great collection of inspiring projects, encompassing the full gamut of construction types. So be sure to check out the list of this year's winners. All 19 of these projects will be highlighted further in ENR's Feb. 11, 2013 issue.
As noted above, four of these 'Best of the Best' winners came from the Southeast. They included: Miami's splashy Marlins Park project; the Freedom Tower Restoration, also in Miami; Boeing's 787 Building Program project in North Charleston, S.C.; and the Yellow River Water Reclamation Facility Improvements Project, in Gwinnett County, Ga.
