ENR West: Northern California 2025 Contractor of the Year: Hensel Phelps

ENR regional editors have selected Hensel Phelps as the magazine's 2025 Contractor of the year for the West Region: Northern California.
For the past several years, Hensel-Phelps has been in the top five of ENR West’s Top Contractors list and topped $2.7 billion in revenue for 2024. The company has carved out an excellent reputation in the region, particularly for big-ticket transportation projects.
In Northern California, Hensel-Phelps has embraced the use of progressive design-build to increase its regional footprint, supporting no less than six new projects of this type in their preconstruction phases.
Additionally, 2024 the company saw the launch of the new 18-acre Kaiser Permanente Sacramento Railyards Medical Center Campus. The firm also recently completed the $1.3B redevelopment of San Francisco International Airport’s Harvey Milk Terminal 1. The company also noted strong growth in healthcare market sectors.
