ENR California is proud to announce that Devcon Construction Inc. has been named Contractor of the Year.

The Milpitas-based company has made a name for itself, especially in Silicon Valley, with a string of technology clients and a reputation for executing cutting-edge designs. Devcon is one of the top contractors on our survey (No. 4 last year) and has grown in revenue over the past seven years.

The firm is the contractor for Stanford University’s 1.5-million-sq-ft Redwood City office campus. The university’s $568 million campus off Highway 101 is its first major expansion outside the main campus in more than 125 years. Construction began in 2016 and is planned for a 2019 completion. At Stanford’s main campus, Devcon is renovating the historic Frost Amphitheater.

Devcon is also helping construct 1212 Bordeaux, a 100,000-sq-ft office building in Sunnyvale. Google paired Parabola Architecture with Devcon to create a design-build team. Other Silicon Valley projects include Nvidia’s new massive building in Santa Clara, a 750,000-sq-ft project. Construction is expected to start next month and take up to three and a half years.

Readers will be able to learn more about Devcon in a profile story that will publish in the July 30 print edition of ENR California.
